Jai Shri Agrasen,
APCA was founded in 1992 by a few Agrawal Scientists and
officers of Indian Space Research Organisation at Ahmedabad. It has grown tremendously
since then and has encompassed Agrawal Professionals from different fields outside ISRO.
Now it is a body of senior officers from central and state Governments and Public Sector
undertakings as well as professionals from diverse fields and disciplines. APCA members include senior officers from I.A.S. , I.P.S., ISRO, ONGC, PRL, Income Tax, Customs & Excise, Railways, Banks and professionals like Engineers, Doctors, Scientists,
Chartered Accountants, Company cretaries, Advocates, Professors, etc. APCA is a vibrant
Association and is known all over the State for its activities in social , cultural, educational,
and philanthropic ields.
APCA started its youth chapter by the name “YUVA AGRAWAL PROFESSIONALS
CULTURAL ASSOCIATION” for young Agrawal professionals in the age group of 21 to 35 years,
in the year 2006. YUVA APCA has also grown continuously .They join APCA activities like
Agrasen Jayanti and Annual Sports Meet and also organize their separate activities during the
year.
The Constitution of APCA has undergone some changes in the past. A copy of the
current Constitution is included in the souvenir. List of present APCA and YUVA- APCA
members are also included to facilitate interaction amongst the members. The contribution of
previous Executive Committees must be cognized in the growth of APCA and therefore lists
of the Executive Committee during the last 20 years are also included.
APCA is organizing a number of functions every year in which members participate with their
families including parents. Activities for all age groups of children , dies and gents are
organized to ensure participation by all. Children are provided stage for showing and
developing their talent in public speaking, fancy dress, reciting poems, skits, drawing & painting, costume dances etc. Games and sports are held for all age groups every year in January. Public speaking contests are also held for members and their spouses. Prizes for first , second and third winners are given in all events and the functions are followed by lunch or dinner. A “Treasure Hunt” was organized for the first time in August 2011. APCA also organizes medical camps, group film shows , visits to waterpark ,etc. Lectures on professional topics like health , budget, investment , wills etc. have been organized by our members as well as outsiders. Some one day excursion were arranged to places of tourist , historical or religious importance like Mahudi, Champaner, Pavagadh, Narmada Dam and Kevadia Colony, Mother Dairy etc. Four to five days tours were taken to Agroha , Salasar Hanumanji, Khatu Shyamji and Jaipur. A foreign trip was made to Sri Lanka in November 2011 for 5 days.
APCA is regularly publishing quarterly news letters for the last 12 years , which include
details of important events and activities, birthdays and marriage anniversaries, promotions ,
transfers, achievements and lists of meritorious students who are awarded silver medals and
certificates on the occasion of the Agrasen Jayanti every year. Matrimonial ads given by APCA
members are published free of cost.
APCA is having its own website and email id. Directory of APCA and Yuva- APCA
members have been published in the past giving details of member, spouse and children. The
same has been appreciated and found useful by all members.
Medical helpline of about 17 APCA members and Legal Help Line of 5 APCA members
have been formed in the recent past to give sincere advice and help to needy members.
APCA is affiliated to state level Gujarat Pradesh Agrawal Maha Sabha and APCA
President is currently the elected President of the Maha Sabha.
According to APCA Constitution, elections are held every 2 years in the month of April to
elect the Executive Committee through secret ballot. |
